Mophology

The leaf of this drug is ovate ~ elliptic with opposite and sometimes alternative arrangements, grayish green, serrate and thick, 6 ~ 10 cm long, and 3 ~ 4 cm wide. The stalk is 30 ~ 70 cm long and 20 ~35 mm in diameter; the stem is bluish green and fragile. It is odourless, and tastes bitter and sour.
